I was just reading your memory of the time that Albert Collins was in town in Toronto. I was at the gig, actually I was working at Steve’s Music Store at the time, and the word was that Albert Collins was inviting both Jeff H. and Stevie to meet up at the Hotel (Albert’s Hall I believe). We had been selling gear to Jeff for years, so when the opportunity came to pass that he would be there it was a must see. I remember that we were hanging with Dire Straits and invited Mark Knopfler and the group to attend. He came with some of the band but hung out upstairs from the stage. We had been with Stevie after the show, and later at an Oshawa event on the second round of his solo tour. It was a great evening, I remember clearly being beside Stevie while he came in the room and watched intently Jeff’s method of playing guitar. Great moment to see the master’s jaw drop, and just smile the heck out of the remainder of the evening while he played with Albert and Jeff. I have to find the photo’s I have somewhere around here and send them your way. “)
